It was good.
Yes, dear supreme sock Goddess, it was good.
Not much new to learn… co-sleeping with infants is usually found in families with a back ground (cultural, social, familial) of doing it, higher education, breastfeeding, … the usual things.
It was interesting to see the numbers from New Zealand in regards to infant death. As well as the table outlining the significant drops in these rates after the big push (public education) to put babies to bed on their backs. HUGE difference.
I missed bits and pieces of it due to the incessant howls for mummy coming from the wee girlie. I got out the earphones after a while. I’m sure wee girlie will be scarred for life that I didn’t come to her rescue.
Anyway, interesting stuff. I could go on, but I need to make sure I get some sleep… baby should make their debut this week. PLEASE make your debut this week! please!
If you are at all interested check out this link.
I have more to say… but too tired to even make a stab at being reasonable with the English language. If anyone is wondering about my technologically talented self… I chose not to use the microphone. I know it works, but I chose to type instead. Seriously… I was the only one without a nice lilting accent. Then again… could a Canadian accent be cool to them? shrugs shoulders and refuses to give it another thought.
Food for thought…
they don’t have doula’s in New Zealand. They do not have doulas in New Zealand? I am stunned.
HA! They do so have doula’s in New Zealand! Breasfeeding.com informs me that they have an entire listing of doula’s in New Zealand…. me thinks that Sarah was teasing me!
Then again, midwifery is rampant in New Zealand. As opposed to North America… where it still elicits a ‘mid-what?’.
shudder.
