It was good.

Yes, dear supreme sock Goddess, it was good.

Not much new to learn… co-sleeping with infants is usually found in families with a back ground (cultural, social, familial) of doing it, higher education, breastfeeding, … the usual things.

It was interesting to see the numbers from New Zealand in regards to infant death. As well as the table outlining the significant drops in these rates after the big push (public education) to put babies to bed on their backs. HUGE difference.

I missed bits and pieces of it due to the incessant howls for mummy coming from the wee girlie. I got out the earphones after a while. I’m sure wee girlie will be scarred for life that I didn’t come to her rescue.

Anyway, interesting stuff. I could go on, but I need to make sure I get some sleep… baby should make their debut this week. PLEASE make your debut this week! please!

If you are at all interested check out this link.

I have more to say… but too tired to even make a stab at being reasonable with the English language. If anyone is wondering about my technologically talented self… I chose not to use the microphone. I know it works, but I chose to type instead. Seriously… I was the only one without a nice lilting accent. Then again… could a Canadian accent be cool to them? shrugs shoulders and refuses to give it another thought.

Food for thought…

they don’t have doula’s in New Zealand. They do not have doulas in New Zealand? I am stunned.

HA! They do so have doula’s in New Zealand! Breasfeeding.com informs me that they have an entire listing of doula’s in New Zealand…. me thinks that Sarah was teasing me!

Then again, midwifery is rampant in New Zealand. As opposed to North America… where it still elicits a ‘mid-what?’.

shudder.

I went on a rant.  A big rant.  Don’t know if they will print it or not.

I know that paramedics show up to births without proper training, without proper equipment, without someone trained in infant intubation.  Ask my friend R… who waited for seven minutes for that person to show up… as her child lay motionless in her arms.  Now there is a great vision for ‘they save lives everyday!’ posters huh?  She even has the call word for word… her husband said Just gave BIRTH, NEED INFANT resuscitation or intubation.  And yet, nothing as far as equipment or trained personnel showed up.

I hope they personnel who answered her call that night have nightmares.  For the rest of their lives.

Exactly what is the use of calling the ambulance?  Other than to prove that unassisted birth, if something were to go ‘wrong’, the parents would be in trouble… because those brave souls out there to save the day.

Don’t even have a right to a cape and title.  *at least in my Province

Take your camera outside.

Hello Mr. Peregrine falcon… glad you could enjoy a nice fat birdie that we have spent the winter fattening up.

The neighbour children were suitably impressed with the entrail tossing and bone crunching sounds we got listening at wee girlies bedroom window.   This photo was taken from her window.  Yes, he noticed us.  sooooo cool!

Last night I was supposed to finish the second sock… then go and pay a minuscule fee for the sock goddess to help me learn how to finish the toe. She would have to triple the fee to make it worth the time and effort it would take to teach me!

So much for plans. Spent last night in bed… hacking up a lung. Nary a knitting needle in sight. So, the wonderful plans were scratched this morning. Though I figure if I slip her some wine one night… and a fiver… I might be allowed to see the secrets of finishing off socks properly.

For now I’m going to now try and convince midsized boy to accompany me upstairs… give him a bunch of toys and books in the big bed and lie down. My head is aching today. Can’t tell if it is hormone or weather related. Hormones can stuff it, and the weather can join the hormones in Hell … I’m so tired of snow! I dug out the Easter things and realized that the chance of ‘nice weather’ for Easter is about… ohhhhhh. NIL. Oh the life of a Canadian. No outdoor egg hunt this year. :-(

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Send me some extra warmth if you have some okay?

First off.  This isn’t the first time these people have made a plea for help with this.

I chose to ignore them the first time around.  Whatever, you didn’t move back in time to have all your paperwork settled.  WHAT EVAH!  We had to pay close to 400$ to the AB government for the three months it took for our MB health to kick back in.   Trust me that hurt plenty.  Having to give them money even if we weren’t accessing any health care services here!

SUCK IT UP kids!  You should have double checked your sources.  Baby could have been born overseas and still applied for Canadian citizenship because of dad.  SUCK IT UP.  You chose to move back to do this… should have been more careful with the timing…  dumb ass’

The next one, which caused this family to whine and complain about their sad state of affairs… the ones in Saskatchewan.

I had better hear the magic words people!

placenta previa

placenta accretia

Severe aorta dysfunction in the mom…

Gimme something  to work with here.  Because if this is just a ‘ohhh look at how teeny tiny she is’ crap.  Then retract the money and get them to pay for their totally elective cesarean.  I hate despise that cesareans on maternal demand are not out of pocket expenses.  Want to risk your own life, fine go ahead, but don’t be a dumb ass about that infant inside of you.  Do not set them up for failure.  FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Now if you shall excuse me I’m going to curl up on the chair and fall asleep watching the movie as biggest boy just did in the last few minutes I’ve been screaming about stupid people who have/are going to be giving birth.

*Note, this is not meant to slam those who serve in the military.  I am grateful to the father of the baby in his service to this country.  I do not, condone un-necesareans. read it again… it makes sense truly it does!
